Saint Panteleimon the Physician

Saint Panteleimon was an intelligent young man studying medicine. Upon noticing his character, a priest invited him to know more about Christ and since then Panteleimon started exploring Christianity under the guidance of his new teacher. He was most intrigued by how Christ healed the sick. One day, he saw a young man who died after being bitten by a snake. He prayed to Christ to raise him, and when the man arose, Panteleimon sought baptism and lived a true Christian life. He treated the poor for free and would pray to Christ when “modern” medicine would fail, many miracles were done at his hands.
